Allow enough space for the furniture you want plus room to walk around it. As a rough guide, a table for four needs about 3 by 3 metres. Matching the patio to the width of your extension or bifold doors usually looks best.
How do I design a patio?
Think about where the sun falls, how you’ll step out from the house, and drainage. The patio should fall gently away from the house, and the levels should line up with your doors.
